My Beauty Review of the Maybelline 8-In-1 light weight PURE MINERAL BB MOUSSE, that I got as a complimentary gift from the Maybelline THE ROCK THE ROCKET event last night (26 July 2013). I used purely only the BB Mousse and NOTHING else on, on my naked bare face (I guess you can tell that I just took a shower too – my hair is still damp!)!
VERDICT: It DOES effectively cover up dark eye rings, freckles and pimple scars, with 8-in-1 benefits & SPF 30 Protection!
It forms into foam that transforms into a light weight sheer liquid formula when spread!
Also, the color adapts flawlessly into my skin tone. It appears to minimize my pores too and make my skin look flawless and dewy.
However, here are some cons to the product, so do take note:
1) The foundation (BB Mousse) will streak when it touches water, so I recommend applying a layer of loose powder/powder to ‘set’ it in.
2) You have to be careful not to apply too much pressure when pressing the pump or else you may end up dispensing too much foam/mousse.
Other than that, I think it’s quite a good product (it appears as if I do not have anything on my face and even my friends got fooled and thought I really had the natural glow and perfect skin!).

I was invited to the Maybelline LET’S ROCK THE ROCKET event at Zouk Club on 26 July 2013, by Li Hui – Creative Designer of Nankai leather wear.
The Star Product of this event was the VOLUM’EXPRESS The ROCKET mascara, hence the ‘ROCKET’ theme. I loved how the ‘ROCKET’ theme and concept were carried & executed well throughout the entire event in all its touch points, from invitation card to posters, mascots, props, instagram booth, fashion runway, videos, models etc.
We got to snap pictures together with Fashion Director of Asia’s Next Top Model Daniel Boey!
Daniel Boey even showed us how to upload & tag our photos on Instagram to have our photos instantly printed out on the printer!

Recently, I chanced upon this new classy and modern slimming centre ABSOLUTE WELLNESS (by Beauty 100), in the up-class Katong / Marine Parade Central area. It is located behind i12 Katong Mall, on the opposite side on the left.

I am usually quite skeptical of beauty salons or slimming centres, especially with some bad press regarding some of theses salons that hard sell packages but do not deliver results, nor show any real customers’ testimonials or photos. I am the kind of person who has to ‘see it to believe it’, or ‘experience’ it myself, in order to have faith and belief in the product/service.
I’ve been to countless beauty salons and I’m no dummy to the tricks and gimmicks some of these salons have. However, I was won over by Absolute Wellness, over a few things:
1) They were generous to offer me FREE slimming sessions FOR REAL. Seriously, NO hard-selling after that, and I really did NOT have to pay them any money. They were genuine in wanting to let me try out the treatment to see some results first, before I move on with the full package.
2) Absolute Wellness is a multi Award-Winning slimming centre.

3) Absolute Wellness did a full body check up and health analysis for me, which easily costs hundreds of dollars at the clinics. The check revealed my health status in the following areas:
– Liver (toxin & chemical levels reading)

– Fat percentage, Muscle & Protein percentage in the body
– Brain functioning level (the reading is also able to detect if a person has memory loss due to reasons like lack of sleep, tiredness, malnutrition etc)
– Calcium level
– Blood Circulation
– Blood Pressure
– And more!
4) The NEW Absolute Wellness’ slimming centre at 80 Marine Parade Central #01-780 is big (2 Levels), clean and modern, with a contemporary deco. Love it!
5) Absolute Wellness did not hesitate to whip out folders and files containing photos of their satisfied customers’ ‘BEFORE’ and ‘AFTER’ results. I was impressed. Most beauty salons’ consultants only try to hard sell their services through talking, with nothing to prove.
Here are some photographs of ABSOLUTE WELLNESS’ satisfied and REAL customers who have lost as much as 10 kg of weight in 1 month. GK is a male customer who reduced from 105.6kg to a healthy weight of 78.2kg in just 3 months!
Further more, Absolute Wellness’ customers are so happy with their results, they’ve even agreed to have their photographs featured in Absolute Wellness’ print advertisements in the newspapers and print editorial features.
Today will be my very FIRST slimming session with Absolute Wellness, and I have to undergo a consecutive 3-day slimming treatment with them for the first round of treatment, after which my other sessions would be once or twice weekly.
I’m kinda excited, and I’ll be posting up photos and updates of my progress on this blog! I’m looking forward to sharing my personal experience with you! 🙂

It is easily purchased at selected Watsons stores in Singapore.
The SUR Character Manicure set comes with
1) 3 sheets of 12 different patterns on each sheet
2) 1 White Base Coat
3) 1 Transfer Solution
*NOTE: You will NEED an additional TOP COAT to seal in the design and create a protective high-gloss shine.
And now, I’ll show you how to do this amazing ‘Print On’ manicure, in this Step by Step Tutorial!
STEP 1:
– Make sure that your nails are buffed and smooth. Apply the White Base Coat on your nails and wait for the base coat to dry COMPLETELY.
STEP 2:
– Cut out the patterned sheets (or you could cut out the sheets in advance, before you apply the base coat). Take 1 patterned sheet and apply at least 2 Coats of the TRANSFER SOLUTION (Pink Bottle) to the printed side of the patterned sheet and then press the PRINTED SIDE face down on your nail.
– Remember to PRESS and HOLD the paper firmly in place and use the edge of your nail to press down on the sides and corners of the nail, to ensure that the color sticks on evenly to the nail (you wouldn’t want patchy and uneven prints!). It helps to press and hold the center of the nail with the paper first and then proceed to the other areas, pressing down print by print.
– I figured that it’s possible to even Press down on single Prints only (for example a solitary Diamond print) to create a customized mix or spacing of different patterns. Try it! Be creative!
STEP 3:
– Remove the paper. There may be some bits of mushy paper stuck to your nails. You may apply some TRANSFER SOLUTION to the nail to remove the softened wet paper bits gently with the tip of your fingers.
– APPLY Top Coat and you’re done!
And now, for the finished results (Pardon me for the ‘not so professional looking’ application, as it’s my very first time trying it out. I promise to do a better job next time!)!
And I’m LOVING my newly Printed nails!

Stylist Mich goes in depth on hair care, and gives advice for hair with multiple problems. The key is in alternating shampoos on alternate days. Now we know that having just 1 type of shampoo is not sufficient for healthy hair and scalp!

Did you know that hair is made up of a protein known as Keratin, and that Keratin is lost when the hair is subjected to chemical treatment, coloring and blow-drying? The Damage Reconstruction Serum (my favorite product!) protects and strengthens the hair beyond the surface, and makes the hair look healthy and shiny INSTANTLY! For long-lasting results, apply the leave-on cream as it manages and protects the damaged hair from pollution, sun and heat by styling tools. It also keeps hair manageable all day long!

It was certainly a very wonderful experience, working on set and on the pre photo shoot preparing the fake nails Nail Art (now, they didn’t look like fake nails, did they?!). This DIY Nail Special placed emphasis on the latest nail trends, introducing texture nail polish and nail foils, as well as the candylicious caviar beads (which is so IN now!). Apart from doing the nail art and assembling the nails on our beautiful model Lera, we even had Lera wrapped up in newspapers, as we prepared to ‘pour’ and dust on colored powders and Van Houten Cocao Powder on her face and body to give the Edgy look for the textured CONCRETE nail segment.
We sure had fun. These lovely photos are a testament of the time we shared preparing for this amazing Nail Special feature!

We had featured overseas stylists Alexander Fuchs (Paris, Australia) and Marek Wan (Hong Kong) style all the models’ hair and do a live Hair Show in the Special Key-hole cut out stage that we created. Both stylists display 2 unique and different styles of Pop-Chick Haute Couture and Romantic Free Movement, yet merging these 2 different influence into the harmonious MYSTIC GARDEN 2013 Collection theme.
The Asia Director of La Biosthetique Ralf Kunzmann gave a grand opening speech, followed by Leo Leong (Director of Glamour Salon System), in conjunction with Glamour Salon System’s 20th Anniversary (since 1993).
